            <title>Town Topics article written by Anne Levin, &quot;Brooks Brothers, Other Retailers to Open ...</title>
            <link>http://www.palmersquare.com/news/1#20-town-topics-article-written-by-anne-levin-brooks-brothers-other-retailers-to-open-stores-on-palmer-square</link>
            <description>The arrival of Brooks Brothers on Palmer Square next fall is not the only change planned for Princeton&amp;rsquo;s downtown. A women&amp;rsquo;s accessory store and some shuffling of spaces are also in the works. On Witherspoon Street, a tenant has been signed for the old Lahiere&amp;rsquo;s restaurant, but just who that tenant is remains to be revealed.
&amp;ldquo;I can&amp;rsquo;t comment on that,&amp;rdquo; said Jeffrey M. Siegel, president of ML-Seven, the real estate firm that owns the building, where renovations have been underway for the past few weeks. &amp;ldquo;The tenant will be making an announcement when he&amp;rsquo;s ready.&amp;rdquo;
Brooks Brothers, which will move into the 6,130-square-foot space being vacated by Banana Republic, is known for its line of conservative collegiate clothing, primarily for men. &amp;ldquo;David [Newton, vice president of Palmer Square Management] has been in discussion with them, back and forth, for some time,&amp;rdquo; said Anita Fresolone, Palmer Square Management&amp;rsquo;s marketing director. &amp;ldquo;They were waiting for the right space to present itself, and with Banana Republic vacating, it came up.&amp;rdquo;
Banana Republic will relocate to Princeton Marketfair in West Windsor. In mid-March, a women&amp;rsquo;s accessories store will open in the Palmer Square West space previously occupied by Terracycle, Ms. Fresolone said. &amp;ldquo;They don&amp;rsquo;t want to reveal their name until they open.&amp;rdquo;
Other changes on the square involve expansions and refittings. Luxaby Baby is moving down Hulfish Street to larger quarters. &amp;ldquo;They are adding a line of maternity clothing, which I think will be a very nice draw,&amp;rdquo; the marketing director said. The Paperie will relocate from its store next to the Mediterra restaurant to the former Pierre Deux space, also on Hulfish Street. &amp;ldquo;They&amp;rsquo;ll have a clean rectangle in that space, which from a merchandising perspective will be a nice fit for them,&amp;rdquo; Ms. Fresolone said.
The changes leave two vacancies on the square. &amp;ldquo;But there is always interest,&amp;rdquo; said Ms. Fresolone. &amp;ldquo;I&amp;rsquo;m excited for spring and for all our changes, because everything is for the positive.&amp;rdquo;

            <title>JaZams hosts Illustrator, Charles Santore and the new edition of The Night Before Christmas</title>
            <link>http://www.palmersquare.com/news/1#17-jazams-hosts-illustrator-charles-santore-and-the-new-edition-of-the-night-before-christmas</link>
            <description>JaZams hosts Illustrator Charles Santore
His latest book is a new edition of The Night Before Christmas

Illustrator Charles Santore will appear at jaZams toy store in Princeton on Dec. 11 to sign copies of The Night Before Christmas (Applesauce Press, $18.95). This new edition of the classic holiday poem faithfully reproduces the cherished verse alongside Mr. Santore&amp;rsquo;s lavish illustrations.
&amp;nbsp;
&amp;ldquo;Charles Santore is a brilliant illustrator and we love his books,&amp;rdquo; says jaZams owner Joanne Farrugia, who has previously hosted Mr. Santore for several book signings.

This 48-page hardcover edition is embellished with five-color printing on both the cover and interior pages, giving Mr. Santore&amp;rsquo;s illustrations that radiant warmth perfect for the wintry season. A four-page gatefold is situated in the middle of the book, spanning nearly four feet in length and spilling the beautiful wintry wonderland right into the readers lap. This feature has never before been included in any other published edition.

Publisher's Weekly gave the book, which took two years to complete, a starred review, calling Mr. Santore&amp;rsquo;s vision a &amp;ldquo;gorgeous interpretation of a beloved holiday classic.&amp;rdquo;

Mr. Santore&amp;rsquo;s previous book illustrations includes editions of The Wizard of Oz, Aesop&amp;rsquo;s Fables, The Complete Tales of Peter Rabbit, Paul Revere&amp;rsquo;s Ride, and more. A resident of Philadelphia, he has won many awards including the Society of Illustrators Award of Excellence, the Alumni Award of the Philadelphia College of Art, and the Hamilton King Award. His illustrations are part of several permanent collections, including the Brandywine River Museum, New York Museum of Modern Art, The Free Library of Philadelphia, and The United States Department of the Interior. His work is also dutifully collected and embedded within many private collections worldwide.

JaZams is an independent toy store that has served central New Jersey for more than 15 years. Located in Princeton, it offers classic and specialty toys and games to its customers, as well as a large selection of contemporary, classic and hard-to-find books. The store often draws authors and illustrators to its premises to share their work with the community.

Their readers voted&amp;nbsp;to identify Jersey&amp;rsquo;s favorite places for eating, shopping, relaxation and recreation.&amp;nbsp; Here's what they had to say about&amp;nbsp;Salon Pure:

&amp;ldquo;I have never seen a salon so educated in the new and in-style, with cuts as well as products,&amp;rdquo; writes reader Kristen Headley of Jackson. Mission accomplished, then, for Salon Pure in Princeton, which co-owner Amy Kaczowski opened four years ago to be cutting edge, no pun intended. In addition to standard hair treatments, Salon Pure offers nail, make-up and epilation services and bridal packages. (31 A Hulfish St; 609-683-8384, salonpureprinceton.com)
